Our Mission
The mission of the Freshman Academy School Counseling Program at Hunters Lane High School is to help every student achieve success by supporting their transition from middle school to their first year of high school, to prepare students to transition into their career academy in their sophomore year, to help them find a place to belong in extra-curricular activities like clubs and sports, and to support their preparation for life beyond high school. This is accomplished through an open-door policy, cultural and linguistic awareness, social and emotional support, and empowering them to advocate for themselves in and out of the school setting. The mission is to guide all students towards graduation and fulfillment of post-secondary goals whatever those may be.

Our Vision
The Freshman Academy Counselor vision at Hunters Lane High School is to be available to all students, with an extra focus on students in their first year of high school, in an effort to help them prepare for post-secondary academic and career goals through career counseling, college and vocational school admissions assistance and tools for success. We will always strive to assist students in excelling in 21st Century skills to make themselves more marketable in the global business world of today. Our vision is to support all students whether their post-secondary goals include furthering their education or alternate career endeavors.
